What A Scary World We Live In

I am currently reading a book written by the FBI's famous profiler, John Douglas. In his book, he takes us into the minds of serial killers. These wackos actually believe in what they're doing! Anyway, these books are becoming great tools for my writing. I've already got an idea for my next book and great ideas into the insight of the villain in my current wip. Any "real" life tools you use in your writing?

I use different TV shows as tools for my writing. If you're interested in forensic information and insight into the minds of criminals try watching "The Investigators" and "Forensic Files" on Court TV. There is also a show on Court TV that has a Criminal Profiler from Florida-Dale Hinman-"Body of Evidence." A&E has "Cold Case Files" and "City Confidential." On Discovery I watch "The New Detectives" and "FBI Files."

You can get some really good story lines from these shows!

My husband is a HUGE fan of Discovery Channel and TLC....sometimes, I'll be reading in bed while he's watching it and something will pull me from my book...I'll jot down notes, weird facts, etc, and I find I use this stuff in my stories.

Dale I see you on Court TV often and I wanted to ask a question. My daughter has been missing ( no Body found ) for 27 yrs. The Los Angeles Detective office uses all sort of excuses and always have for not doing anything. I have search everywhere I can think of. Do you have any advice? I contacted a private detective and he said things had happened to long ago and that was only after six weeks. Please any information you can give will help me.
