I recently finished reading THE HELP by Kathryn Stockett. At times I laughed, other times I wanted to cry, and yet other times I got angry. It shocked me to realize that less than fifty years has passed since black women were treated by most with such disrespect. The story was a real eye opener to me, as I hope it will be to many other readers. As the white mother to two adopted black boys, I was naive enough to believe that racism had faded away a long time ago. Not so long, really. A wonderful book. I highly recommend it and can't wait to see the movie!
