TOO MANY
Every where I turn someone is recommending a book that will take my novel "to the next level". How many books can I read? How many levels can I take my novel to? Getting stressed here. Silly, I know, but I feel I must read them all! Help!
I have a personal goal on that, girl...I read one writing book a week. If it's really good, I might slow down, make notes in the margin, and take it into the second week. I think each writer, who wants to write bigger and better stories, should continue to learn and grow as a writer. I pick out the writing books recommended by my mentor and start with those. Then, when I hear someone hailing a different book, I'll move to those next. Don't get me wrong, I've read some books on writing that didn't help me a flip. I'll be getting to those on my blog in a couple of weeks...just to offer my OWN opinion.
